Dr. Jermaine Reese is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. As a young child, his family moved to Flint, Michigan where he attended the Flint Community Schools, where he was a graduating member of the Class of 1990.
Dr. Reese accepted Christ at an early age and has served in ministry since 1995 when he joined Judah Full Gospel Baptist Church. Dr. Reese would continue his life of service joining the Flint Police Department in 1996 and serving with distinction in various roles until his early retirement in 2014, when he transitioned into his career teaching criminal justice in post-secondary education.
In 1997 Dr. Reese met the love of his life and wife Kimberly. The two became one in May of 2001 celebrating 20 plus years of marriage. Rev. Reese earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Management and Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University, his Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Tiffin University, and his Doctoral degree in Criminal Justice from Capella University. Rev. Reese is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
His ministerial career consists of serving in roles such as an usher, Deacon, teacher, Assistant Pastor, and ministry coordinator. Before being elected to become the Third Pastor at Family, he and his wife served at New Hope Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, MI. Upon their return to the Genesee County area, he reunited with St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. Reese believes in investing in our future through the mentoring and development of our youth. He is also a believer and supporter of community advocacy and partnership and believes that these are the keys to addressing the many problems facing our communities. He is humbled and honored to serve as the third pastor of The Family Missionary Baptist Church.
